CONVERSION OF COMMERCIAL PROPERTY TO PURPOSE BUILT NHS DENTAL SURGERY

CRAIGWELL (NHS) DENTAL SURGERY

CONVERSION OF COMMERCIAL PROPERTY TO NHS DENTAL SURGERY| LANCING

This was a change of use of a premises where R.J.Steele builders converted a ground floor commercial property into a purpose-built NHS Dental surgery. With this particular property conversion, there was also the addition of an adjoining art studio.

As with all our projects, we paid special attention to the aesthetics. On the exterior, we used a beautiful red ‘Forterra autumn glow’ brick with clean white traditional render, finished with the sharp lines of a fiberglass roof. In addition, there was a bespoke powder-coated disabled access handrail together with a touchpad entry system via an aluminum door.

On the inside of the building conversion, we provided clean white walls and ceilings with inset LED spotlighting and LED strip lighting plastered into the walls. A splash of colour was provided in the form of a commercial-grade Linoleum floor. The dental suites are light and spacious with all cables and pipes concealed in the floors running to the dental chairs, creating safe, hygienic environments that are easy to maintain.

Alongside the suites, we created a large studio for a local artist with specifications aligning with end-use. This included double aspect windows to maximise natural light intake together with LED recessed channel lighting cut into the walls to create tunable light when needed.

Often, planning permission will have to be obtained for a change of use of a premises. R.J.Steele building contractors are happy to help with this and all aspects of your project from design to completion. For example, we are well experienced in working closely with trusted local professionals known to the Local Authorities such as Surveyors, Architects and Structural Engineers.
